Culture of Pewter Tea Ware
About Pewter
Pewter is a profound and traditional product of China with a smooth, elegant texture and a remarkable appearance. Pewter symbolizes a noble social position and wealth, which is why the noble people of the West have collected and fallen in love with Pewter since ancient history.
Pewter is called “an un-harmful metal” because of its non-toxic feature. Since Pewter has these qualities of being un-harmful and moisture resistant, pewter containers are a good material to keep tea leaves fresh in terms of aroma and color. Our pewter contains 97% of pure pewter as well as copper, stibium and bismuth. It does not contain lead, mercury, or any other toxic chemical elements. The demand for Pewter has increased more and more for its unique luster, functionality, and vividly carved designs.
Pewter Maintenance
Pewter utensils need simple care to guarantee longevity and original glory. Wash pewter ware in warm, sudsy water, rinse, and dry immediately with soft cotton fabric to prevent rusting and dullness. If dullness occurs, cook lotus leaves with boiled water and use the liquid to polish pewter utensils. After repetitively polishing, you can achieve the original finish. If rusting occurs, apply cut-tomatoes on rusting stain for a couple minutes, then rinse.By avoiding exposure of your Pewter ware to intense heat, you will be able to maintain its life-span and look. When the tin is heated to 160°C, its material becomes brittle, and will break down into powdery pewter ash.
